Thursday, July 21, 2022  6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Don't miss this workshop on putting your best foot forward and leveraging your personal brand in order to land the opportunities of your dreams. Holly Tedesco, the VP of Marketing at Foot Locker and Kid's Foot Locker, will help you identify strong points within your personal brand. This can include: unique characteristics or skills, things you love about your personality, struggles, strengths and weaknesses, etc. Holly will then help you determine how to present your brand professionally. Using LinkedIn as an example, what kind of profile picture should you choose to show that you are creative? Other topics can focus on networking, carving out long term vs. short term goals, and more. For a fun example, Holly will use an influencer or athlete partner as a case study and describe her thoughts on how this person crafted their personal brand. She'll tie their branding to that of Foot Locker's to explain the relationship between both brands and why it works. This is a virtual ZOOM workshop, details and a link will be shared prior to the event. TFL: Microsoft Word & PowerPoint

Thursday, July 28, 2022  6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Knowing how to navigate Microsoft Word is useful for creating and editing just about any document type, including legal documents as well as your own resume. We will go through some basic functions such as opening and saving a document, navigating tabs and toolbars at the top, determining margins and page layouts, inserting and editing text, adding page numbers / headers / footers / page breaks, line spacing, creating bullet points and numbered lists, inserting images and shapes, copying and pasting, and inserting tables, using spell check / thesaurus / word count.
Because Word and PowerPoint are all part of the Microsoft Suite, knowing Word will make learning PowerPoint a little easier; it will also reinforce some of the concepts discussed in the first half of the workshop. PowerPoint is useful for creating clear and crisp presentations. We will review PowerPoint Basics and learn how to create and manage presentations, create and manage slides, enter and edit text on slides, insert graphics, and add custom presentation enhancements and elements such as transitions and animations.
